It’s no secret that I love to laugh, but I don’t practice laughter yoga for the laughter!
It’s the glorious moments of stillness between the laughter exercises that resonates with me the most.
It’s the instant connection that I feel with other human beings and the mutual understanding that we’re all connected. It’s the ability to access joy (even on dark days), the eye contact, the feeling of trust you develop with the other participants whilst expressing childlike playfulness (that takes courage).
And the inherent understanding that race, creed, colour, ethnicity, and sexual preference are just manmade labels.
We love and accept each other without placing conditions on our friendship. We treat each other like family, and as equals. We cheer each other up – even when the world’s gone mad! Language is never a barrier. We see each other for the beautiful, innocent and amazing people we ALL are.
But guess what? You don’t have to practice laughter yoga to shine your light on the world! Practice kindness and love your neighbours, all of your neighbours…it’s as simple as that.
