How to show up for life when you’re resistant to change?

Half of the battle in life is learning to show up.

The other half is being present once you do. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I invite you to give me your full attention for just a few minutes.

Take a second to honour yourself for taking action today and bring your awareness back to the present moment.

And give yourself permission to hug yourself before you continue reading this post. ๐Ÿค— Don’t worry! Nobody’s watching.

Did it feel good? Congratulations! ๐ŸŽ‰

Did it feel strange? Congratulations! ๐ŸŽ‰

You must be wondering why on earth I asked you to do that?

It’s because I want you to be aware of the resistance you feel, as it’s a perfectly normal reaction when you’re presented with something new.

FUN FACT… did you know that most humans resist and reject anything new at least seven times before they adapt? So, don’t sweat it; that’s how we mere mortals are wired.

Your reaction was a good thing… even if you found the suggestion to hug yourself strange or silly.

Why? As being aware of how you feel is the first step in making changes. ๐Ÿ™

To make even the slightest adjustment in life, you first have to be willing to allow transformation to take place.

For most adults, it’s not an easy thing to do.

As habitual patterns are often buried deep within us. After all, we’re not taught how to think or process events as children or young adults.

We’re just cast out into the world without the necessary tools to stay afloat.

And most of us are not even aware of our emotional deficit. And we’re certainly not willing to admit it, even when we know we’re sinking. ๐Ÿ˜‰

However, awareness is often the first step to start the healing process, especially when you want to make significant changes in life.
